Founded in 1936 by Georges Markarian and located in the heart of the Drôme region, Markal is a French leader in organic grocery products sold through specialized distribution channels.

As a historical player in the organic sector in France, Markal specializes in the manufacturing and distribution of organic dry grocery products with a well-established brand among both the general public and distributors, holding a leading position in the grocery aisle of specialized distribution. Initially focused on bulgur production, the group has expanded its catalog and now offers a comprehensive range of sweet and savory grocery products, with over 1,000 references across approximately twenty brands.

Active throughout the value chain, Markal stands out for its ability to establish long-term supply chains, partially or fully integrated for certain product ranges.

Leveraging its historical expertise in cereal processing (wheat, bulgur, barley, etc.), the company possesses a modern and efficient industrial infrastructure that also caters to the needs of industrial players in France and internationally (agri-food, baby food, RHF, etc.).
